Modular Body Armor Vests & Ceramic Ballistic Plates

Our modular and compact body armor vests at Steel Defender include many integral and important features that make it highly effective and highly protective gear. The vests, of course, are supplied with ceramic ballistic plates for top protection and durability against blows. Some of the vests use steel, which of course is also a highly protective material. So the vests do their basic service. However, these modular and compact body armor vests also include PALS, or Pouch Attachment Ladder Systems, so that the usefulness of the vests is expanded significantly. This blog will tell you about PALS.
The Pouch Attachment Ladder System is a grid, or system, of webbing. This system was invented and patented by United States Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center and is used to attach equipment onto different gear, such as vests and jackets. The goal is, of course, to do this in a useful and easy way. It was first used on modular light weight load carrying equipment (MOLLE) rucksacks. Now, it has branched out to all sorts of training and tactical vests, including the modular body armor vests we carry at Steel Defender. The PALS are used to attach all kinds of gear to the vests, such as knives, magazines for ammo, sticks, and other weapons or navigational gadgets The PALS come in different styles and types, so that a vest-wearer can have some individuality and customization of how their equipment lays. There are also different methods of attaching the PALS, which will determine how they lay on the vest.
PALS in combination with the state of the art ceramic ballistic plates will keep you protected and equipped all through your mission.

Modular Body Armor Vest

Steel Defender specializes in two types of body armor vests: the compact vest, and the modular body armor vest. We use the toughest, most reliable materials of steel and ceramic as ballistic protective plates inside these vests. This blog will describe some of the standard features of our modular body armor vest.
The modular body armor vest separates itself from the compact vest by the fact that it has different compartments for different tools and uses by the wearer. The features also include a support band inside the vest, which gives extra PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) to hold additional armored side-panel plates. You can also use these pouch attachment sites for equipment. The fact that you can leave the equipment inside the vest means you get an added layer of concealment and stealth in your operation.
Despite the heavy protection you receive with the ceramic ballistic plates, the vest is lightly-padded inside and ends up being relatively cool. The modular body armor vest is also adjustable for sizes medium through extra-large. The vest offers a shoulder support system as well as quickly and easily adjusted straps, to tighten and loosen the vest as needed. Certain features are also detachable and repositionable, making the vest more versatile. There are even pull-down flaps that open and close easily to give you access to the ceramic ballistic plates, if you need to replace or assess them. Always thinking ahead, the modular body armor vest includes a pocket specifically for a map, so that you are even further prepared to accomplish the rigorous tasks you may have at hand

Ceramic Ballistic Plates

At Steel Defender, we provide our customers with state of the art modular body armor, including different types of ballistic missile-proof vests. We install ceramic ballistic plates, as well as steel protective plates, into our body armor. These materials and the process with which we build the armor will defend you against major projectile blows. This blog will describe a bit about ceramic ballistic plates, so that you can understand what the material is, exactly.
Steel Defender inserts the ceramic ballistic plates into the soft type body armor. The soft outside helps to absorb shocks, and then the inside is composed of this very durable, thick material. A ceramic ballistic plate is not as obscure as it would seem. The word “ballistic” simply means that the vest (or whatever is at hand) has to do with projectiles, things that fly through the air, missiles, etc. With that in mind, you know that a modular body army vest with ceramic ballistic plates in it will have plates made of hard ceramic that will defend the vest-wearer against the shots or blow of a ballistic projectile.
Ceramic plates are used by United States national officials for protection as well. These are not any less than the very best out there. The plates are ideal because they are relatively lightweight, given the amount of protection and durability they offer. They are easily replaced and can be inserted with one or two of them in the same soft vest. Steel Defender is a great proponent of this type of material, because time and again, it saves human lives.
